Our first stop takes us to Telde, specifically to the charming Finca Los Olivos. For approximately one hour, you will immerse yourself in the fascinating world of extra virgin olive oil, that liquid treasure that so defines Mediterranean cuisine. Century-old olive trees tell us their story as we walk among their silver leaves, with the eastern landscapes of the island as a backdrop. Here, a guided tour in Spanish will reveal the secrets of the oil mill, from the harvesting of the olives to the extraction of that precious green nectar. But not only olive oil awaits you: you will enjoy a tasting that will delight your palate, including freshly made olive oil, marinated olives, crusty bread, local cheese and a sip of fresh water to cleanse your palate. It is a tribute to the land in every bite, and Telde, with its agricultural tradition, is the perfect setting for this first contact with the Canarian essence.

After this start full of nuances, we head north to the municipality of Arucas. There we find the legendary Destilería Ron Arehucas, an essential 40-minute stop. The aroma of sugar cane and molasses envelops us from the very first moment, transporting us to the origins of this iconic drink. With a guided tour available in German and English (as well as Spanish), you will discover the secrets of distillation and ageing that make this rum an emblem of the islands. The grand finale comes with a tasting where you can sample some of its most award-winning varieties, letting their smoothness and character win you over. An expert tip? Don't leave without trying the intense Carta Oro, a rum that leaves a lasting impression.

To make the experience complete and at your own pace, you will have one hour of free time in Arucas. Take the opportunity to stroll through its picturesque old town, admire the majestic neo-Gothic church of San Juan Bautista or, if you prefer, sit at a local terrace and enjoy a traditional Canarian lunch while watching life go by. It is the perfect moment to savour the essence of this town at leisure.

After recharging your batteries, we continue our journey with a visit to the Museo del Plátano, also in Arucas. In this fascinating stop, we will take a guided tour through the history, diversity and cultural importance of the most famous fruit in the Canary Islands. From its arrival to the islands to its current role in the economy and gastronomy, you will discover why the banana is much more than just a fruit. The visit culminates with a tasting that will allow you to savour its essence, and you will also be able to purchase derivative products as surprising as wines, liqueurs or pâtés made with banana. A perfect finishing touch for a route that has united the east and north of the island in a single day.
