The entire Anfi del Mar complex was built in the late 1980s by the Norwegian Björn Lyng, in a space where there were only cliffs and rocks. This was a significant development in tourism in the Canary Islands, and more over in Gran Canaria. The presence of luxury hotels and apartments, restaurants, sports and leisure centres, as well as shopping centres, seem to be in total harmony with the surrounding rocky landscape, typical of Gran Canaria.
