Loro Park

If you come to Tenerife you can not miss the opportunity to visit one of the most renowned zoos in Europe, being the best on the continent, and the second best in the world. All this in the idyllic surroundings of the north of Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz. Furthermore, one of the things that most characterizes this zoo is that it has been a pioneer in many aspects, one of them being the first zoo in the world to have a parrot show in free flight, as well as being the first to receive the "Animal Embassy" certificate in 2008.

What will I find in Loro Parque?

Loro Parque, with an extension of 135,000 square meters, is a complete zoo at the same time as being large, so it is highly recommended that you go there in the early hours of the morning to enjoy the park in its entirety. These are the different areas you will find:

Dolphinarium: This is one of the favorite places for visitors to the park. With modern facilities, some of the best in Europe, they are home to the most playful and fun animals, the dolphins, which will delight the public with their jumps, turns and pirouettes, as well as a myriad of skills that will leave you speechless.

Planet Penguin: A surprising space within the Loro Parque that will amaze you, as well as taking you to Antarctica itself. It has a gigantic iceberg where more than 200 penguins live. In this place, the Loro Parque is considered the best, since never before had the natural living conditions of the penguins been better reproduced. Something worth seeing without a doubt.

Orco Ocean: Another of the symbols of the Loro Parque, the house of our friends the orcas, that in addition counts on being the most modern and innovating installation of the world. It is probably the most representative image of the Loro Parque, the agility and strength of these wonderful animals, delighting the attendees. Watch out that if you are in the front rows you can get wet!

Sea lions: The funniest in the zoo. During their show they won't stop making you laugh with their skills with balls and other instruments, so you won't miss it!

Loro Show: The show that gives name to this incredible zoo and that goes back to 40 years ago when they started with this show. It has been polished year after year until it has become the favorite show of the little ones, who have a great time watching the colorful parrots.

Aquarium: One of the most impressive aquariums you have probably seen, which includes two themed exhibitions in the facilities, which has a total of 1,200,000 litres of water.

Natura Vision: This is the impressive cinema that the zoo has, as well as being educational. The screen shows images dedicated to environmental awareness, so important in these times.

As if this were not enough, in addition to these outstanding areas of the park there are many others dedicated to flora, forming a giant and spectacular Tropical Garden, which includes the Orquidearium, cactus garden, the garden of the dragos and the jungle. A space not to be missed, let alone for lovers of flora.
